We were "posted" to Wilmslow in 1970 and lived in the RAF quarters adjacent to the school. With six children in the family, most of us went to the infant and junior school. We have all done well and owe much of this to this school.
I would love to come back and visit one day, keep up the excellent work.

I loved working at Oaklands in 2006 on my Year 3 placement as a trainee teacher. It was an interactive and creative school environment that the children excelled in. What a fantastic school!

What a wonderful site. My twin daughters Faye and Kirsty both attended Oaklands in fact Gillian Johnson was Faye's teacher. After gaining my NNEB I was lucky to spend time working alongside Elaine Hodson one of the most memorable teaching assistant's i have ever worked with and i have worked in many local schools. I then covered her during a period of sick leave. Oaklands always was and always will be a very special friendly welcoming school. I wish you all the best for the future and what it may bring as you link with Dean Row another warm and welcoming school Regards Carole Peate

What a lovely, colourful site! It brought back many memories of my children's time at the school back in the early/mid 90s, when I was actively involved as Secretary to the Friends of Oaklands. Daughter, Lauren, is now 19 and an art student. I still have some of the beautiful work she produced in Helen Wright's class, the best teacher she ever had and a great inspiration, even from an early age. Next year she plans to specialise in Ceramics and Glass "just like Ms Wright"! (Hi and thanks, Helen!) Peter, 16, was only at the school for 6 months as we moved back to my native Newcastle in '95 but he has very happy memories of his teacher Jane Bentley, teaching assistant Elaine Hodson and head teacher, Annette Wroe. He has diverse learning problems and they always offered lots of encouragement and patience, something we unfortunately didn't experience in his future schools so we decided to home educate him in 2000. He's already a published author and training to be a journalist. Hubby John and I feel that both children had the best possible start in life at Oaklands- a wonderful school where their creativity and individuality blossomed in really happy, caring atmosphere.I am sure that it hasn't changed!

Really bright and colourful site with lots of useful infomration; appealing to both parents and pupils. With all the wonderful pictures it gives the parents more of an insight into what the kids get up to at school, which is sometimes difficult to get out of them at the end of the day!

Blimey! Well i am an ex pupil back in 1982 - 1984. I moved away from the area to go to University and then moved away from England! I'm now married with a young son working and living in Malaysia.
We are moving back to Wilmslow in a couple of years time and hope very much for my little boy to go to Oaklands. Its the best school in the world. PS - I LOVE HUGH'S PAGES!!! What a clever boy!
